A Paddle Brush is Your Hair's Best Friend
Hey everyone,it's been a while since I have written to you. I'm certain that you have never considered that a paddle brush could be your hairs best friend. A brush has always been a way to relate to girls and women of different generations, since the time of Cleopatra. In the movie Little Women or in the book, the sisters often brushed each others hair, usually at night. For the doer it was a relaxing motion and intimacy given to another individual. It was an unspoken acceptance and tenderness afforded to someone you love, usually between females. Men, in the form of sons or husbands had been known to brush their loved one's hair, usually a certain number of strokes. I can imagine that the art of hair brushing could be intimate foreplay between husband and wife. What a tender turn on! If we could ever reduce the number of activities we do during the day, maybe brushing our hair may become important, again!
Just try this simple bedtime soul and hair nourishing activity on the evening prior to shampooing your hair. First acquire a modern form of the old boarhair bristle brush, that came in a set with a matching mirror and nail buffer. The modern form is a paddle brush. The head of the brush measures 3x4" and has plastic bristles imbedded in a cushion. Price can range from$4-30.00. The higher priced paddles come with special wood finishes and bristles. The inexpensive ones work as well. First brush from your front hairline to the back top of your head. Do the same on each side of your head. then brush down the back of your head to your neck. Repeat 5-10 strokes each. Then brush from the back of your head to the front hairline 10 times. Last is from right to left side of your head, 10 strokes each. Try to keep your shoulders relaxed. If your shoulders are up by your ears, lower them and relax.I'm here for you. Remember your paddle brush is your best friend. Visit http://www.stylelikeapro.com/ for more news. Bless you all! Sandy

A liitle Thought About Why My Way May be Better
It just occurred to me on Thursday as I was teaching a class at The School of Paul Mitchell Systems, why my system is significant. The reason you hair Dries faster when you aim the nozzle of the hairdryer at your scalp (instead of just down the length of the hair shaft), is because..... The force of the heated air bounces off the scalp and down the hair shaft for about 6-8 inches, where the hair remains cold and damp. So, in reality you get 2 for one (1.) dry root area and the (2.)hair length starts to dry, too. so you are speeding up the process of drying your hair.
Remember only dry the scalp or root area to 80% dry, before you start paddle brushing the rest of your head.
That was a lightbulb moment.

Are the Ionic and T3 Dryers worth the High cost and High Heat?
All the new rage are the Ionic and the T3 hair dryers. Are they really Safe for the Consumer?
For 90% of consumers, a resounding NO!!!
The reason, most consumers dry their hair way too much and too long. Yes, I know that these dryers are to cut down on the time that you need to dry your hair. But most of us do not have the skills to accomodate the speed in which these dryers do their job. Example, say you are use to driving 60 miles an hour all over town. Then you get in a car and you can only drive at 100 miles an hour. It becomes really scary, then you over adjust to curves and hills and end up in an accident. Same thing happens your hair. You over dry the hair, infact it's FRIED and brittle. Not what you wanted. Medium to fine hair please do not use this dryer unless you get a blowdry class.
These products are excellent for drying extemely thick hair or very skilled people. We everyday consumers feel we are skilled, but even I as a professional do not have eyes on the back of my head to see how much I am over drying my hair.

Hair Under a Baseball Cap.. Does it always look so bad when you take it off?
Well, I have to admit, I have had my Universite'de Paris baseball cap on for essentially 24 hours. Now, I think my hair should have looked terrible when I took it off for Yoga today. Having not showered for that length of time due to a break in our water main to the house. To lower my frustration I focused on something good for me and it was perfect. Back to HAIR.
It did look all scrunched up in the bang area, but 15 minutes into the hour practise I noticed that my hair was taking on it's normal look. Bangs were down and my hair sort of was laying in the right hanging shape.
Why, why, why? My body heated up, more like my head. And I believe doing Downward Dogs helped to airate my hair. When the head and hair have internal moisture the primary style will reinactivate itself. I know this seems odd, but true. when you follow the dirctions on my DVDs your hair will respond better to styling of all types. Even after tons od Downward Dogs.
